I sat down at the table and put my face in my hands. I was so stressed out and anxious at the same time. I wondered what Lemarvin and my father were talking about.

*basement*

Dad: I have never know Shante to explode like that. Any indication why that is?
Lemarvin: I think she is still grieving.
Dad: Mrs. West?
Lemarvin: Yes, sir. And it could be time is winding down, with her getting ready to graduate.
Dad: Yes, yes. I can see that. This is a big point in her life.
Lemarvin: Yes, sir, I agree.
Dad: With that being said, what exactly is your relationship with my daughter?
Lemarvin: Well, sir. I'm going to keep it real with you. I have a lot of feelings for Shante. I love her and I would do anything for her to make her happy.
Dad: Understood. But what are your plans now? She will be going away to college soon. What do you plan to do?
Lemarvin: I'm not sure yet. We still have to talk about that.
Dad: Well, my wife and I just want what is best for our daughter. We don't want to see her get hurt or so distracted that can't focus on school and the life ahead of her.
Lemarvin: I would never do anything to compromise that for her. I don't want her to do anything that may bring her down. I want what is best for her, too.
Dad: Do you believe that being in a relationship with you resembles that?
Lemarvin: All I know is that I want to succeed in whatever it is she chooses to do and I'll do whatever I have to do to encourage her and be there for her. That's it. I love her very much, sir.

LeMarvin and my father came upstairs and rejoined my mother and I at the table. I looked at LeMarvin. He gave me a reasurring smile. I smiled back.

After dinner, I was in a hurry to get out of there.

Shante: Can we take a ride somewhere?
LeMarvin: For sure. Anywhere particular?
Shante: Not really. Just away from here.
LeMarvin: Alright.

LeMarvin and my father shook hands and we left. I couldn't get in his car fast enough. I heard LeMarvin chuckle as he slid in the driver's seat.

Shante: What?
LeMarvin: Are you late for something?
Shante: No... why?
LeMarvin: You seem to be in a hurry.
Shante: I just needed to get out of there.
LeMarvin: I see.
Shante: Well.... what did you and my father talk about?
LeMarvin: A lot of things.
Shante: Like what?
LeMarvin: You and me, our plans, our future.
Shante: Oh my goodness...... (SMH)
LeMarvin: He said he may have a job for me.
Shante: Really?
LeMarvin: Uh huh.
Shante: Well?
LeMarvin? What?
Shante: That's good, news right?
LeMarvin: I suppose.
Shante: You suppose? Are you serious?
LeMarvin: What?
Shante: So... you can stop doing what you're doing.
LeMarvin: Yeah.
Shante: I know, I know but look, of my dad wants to help you out, I think you should let him. He has a lot of pull and he knows a lot of people.
LeMarvin: You don't understand because you are a female.
Shante: What's that supposed to mean?
LeMarvin: It's sort of an ego thing.
Shante: Oh.... here we go.
LeMarvin: I'm being real. It's not like I got the job on my own. Feel me?
Shante: Nope. I'm not feeling nothing. It's something legit so you can stop doing that stupid crap that will eventually get you locked up in prison. So get over your little ego tantrum and be thankful.

He looked at me with a surprised look, but then it turned into smile.

LeMarvin: Alright, babygirl.
Shante: I know.

We rode around for what seemed to be hours and it was starting to get dark. He took me to the spot where he showed me the sunrise except now it was beginning to set. We parked, got out and walked up the hill overlooking the entire city. I sat down on the ground. He sat down next to me. I laid my head on his shoulder as he put his arm around me. He smelled so good. We watched the sun go all the way down.

LeMarvin: Hey...

I turned and looked at him. He moved closer and kissed my lips softly. I felt those chills again. No guy has ever gave me the chills as much as he did. I loved it.

Shante: Come on.
LeMarvin: What?
Shante: Right here.

He looked at me like I was crazy.

LeMarvin: What are you talking about, girl?
Shante: You know what.
LeMarvin: Ohhhh......
Shante: So come on. Have you ever done it outside?
LeMarvin: No, girl. Are you for real?
Shante: Yes I am. I can tell from the way you are kissing me that you want to.
LeMarvin: Oh really? You can tell that, huh?
Shante: Yeah. You have a way that I can tell the difference.
LeMarvin: Oh, I never knew I had a particular way.
Shante: Well, I'm telling you now.

He leaned over and started kissing me again. Then he moved to my neck as he slowly laid me back onto the grass.

LeMarvin: Hold on.

He took off his shirt and laid it out on the ground. I climbed onto it and laid down on my back as he laid down carefully on top of me and placed his soft lips on mine.
